Homestay Accommodation

family-meeting-students-on-arrivalWe consider it very important that a student is made to feel 'at home' while attending a course at CELT. Our accommodation and welfare officer carefully chooses homestay providers for both our adult and teenage students and does everything possible to make sure that students are comfortable and enjoy their stay with us.

Many of our families have been hosting for several years, and are experienced in helping students from different countries and cultures feel at home. Living with the family and taking part in their daily life provides students with the opportunity to constantly practise their new English language skills and learn more about British culture.

Host family bedroomChoosing homestay accommodation means:

  • One student per nationality in each homestay (unless otherwise requested)
  • Support of our experienced accommodation and welfare officer
  • For adult students we offer accommodation in a single room on a half-board basis, i.e. breakfast and dinner during the week and breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the weekend
  • For young learners we offer accommodation in a shared room on a full-board basis, i.e. breakfast, a packed lunch (Monday to Friday, and whenever there are full-day excursions) and dinner

CELT Student Residence (CSR):

CELT now has its own student residence as an alternative to staying with a host family. This is perfect for adult students who would like to be more independent. Conveniently located, just a short walk from the city centre, CELT Student Residence (CSR) is a modernised double Edwardian period building set in a conservation area in the centre of Cardiff. It overlooks the magnificent Bute Park which is behind Cardiff Castle.

CELT student residence (CSR):

  • offers accommodation in a clean, secure, and well-maintained environment
  • is within easy walking distance of our main teaching centre at 6-8 Salisbury Road in the academic quarter of the city
  • is both owned and managed by the school
  • offers residents their own single room
  • offers the use of shared facilities comprising bathrooms (1 bathroom for every 2 residents), a kitchen, and a living room
  • has secure access to each bedroom and the building contains a state-of-the-art camera entry system for additional peace of mind

Please note that CSR is only available for adult students (aged 21+) who are studying at the school.

University Residence Accommodation

During the summer period (July & August), our adult students have the option to rent self-catering rooms in Cardiff University Halls of Residence (Senghenydd Court) next to our adult teaching centre.

Please feel free to contact us for further information.
