The CELT ‘Holiday Language Course’ (HLC) is a fantastic way for Young Learners to develop their English language communication skills. As we look towards this summer, check out some of our highlights from last year.
- Our Young Learners benefited from the sunshine during their trip to Swansea. They enjoyed visiting the city centre and seeing the beautiful views at Bracelet Bay. The trip included visits to Swansea Museum (Wales’ oldest museum), The National Waterfront Museum (for lovers of boats and bees!) and the new developments of Bae Copr/Copr Bay.
- Laser Quest and Bowling brought out the fun, competitive energy in our students during the evenings.
- Disco dancing and sports hall activities kept our students active after morning classes.
- For those interested in sport, you really should visit our city-centre Principality Stadium. Our students learnt about Welsh rugby, football and other events held in the stadium, such as concerts by Ed Sheeran and monster truck races!
- Our Young Learners explored further afield during our Saturday excursions. Bath is always a favourite destination in England! We also enjoyed the historic Gloucester Cathedral and the expansive Gloucester Quays, visiting heritage areas and a filming location for the Harry Potter films.
Young Learner Testimonial:
Why you should study at CELT
”While learning with #CELT I had the opportunity to meet many students from many different countries and exchange very interesting features about each culture.
I visited many places with the school. I especially enjoyed the #celtHLC trips to Oxford and Swansea because the places were amazing and the teachers were brilliant as tour guides!
After spending two summers learning with CELT I now go to college in Cardiff and I study scientific subjects. I’ve never had a problem with the language, thanks to CELT.’ Mirella, Italy
Student Spotlight:
Mirella, from Italy, studied with us for two consecutive summers! Here she is, with CELT’s Lucy and James.
